Sustainability challenges in the service sector and their consequences on individual consumption
On Thursday, June 15th, we have the pleasure to invite you for a discussion panel titled "Sustainability challenges in the service sector and their consequences on individual consumption". It takes place in Aula CNTI and is scheduled for 2:30 - 4:00 pm.
We host expert panelists representing both practice and academia. The discussion is moderated by Jolanta Zralek, PhD.

| Szymon Kowalski, Vice President of PSEW – an energy market expert involved in the energy sector for 15 years. A long-time employee of the largest energy groups in Poland (TAURON Polska Energia S.A., PGE Energia Odnawialna S.A.) where he held senior managerial positions. He was also a public administration employee at the central level, taking an active part in the development of national and EU regulations in the energy sector. Currently Vice President of the Management Board of Business Energy Solutions Sp. z o.o. an entity that provides consultancy in the field of energy transformation of companies, purchases of green energy including cPPAs, as well as the development of renewable energy sources. He is actively involved in industry organizations supporting the development of renewable energy sources in Poland, and currently is, among others, Vice President of the RE-Source Poland Hub Foundation. |

| Magdalena Hilgner is a Manager, Attorney-at-law, at EY Law. Magdalena specializes in regulatory issues related to energy and sustainable development. She has over nine years of experience in consulting in the field of energy law and sustainability regulations for the biggest off-takers of electricity, natural gas, liquid fuels, solid fuels, and heat. Her area of expertise is sustainable finance. Magdalena is an expert in the Working Group for improving ESG reporting among Polish enterprises at the Polish Ministry of Finance. She is also an author of a concept of due diligence procedure for minimum social safeguards, successfully conducted in two Polish biggest enterprises. Magdalena represents clients in various administrative proceedings before the President of the Energy Regulatory Office, including applying for licenses, and energy efficiency certificates and conducting obligatory energy audits as well as fulfilling their obligations regarding colored certificates. Magdalena took part in several legal due diligence processes focusing on matters such as compliance with environmental law regulations concerning the holding of waste production, waste processing, air pollution, and integrated permits. Advised in regulatory works on the EU Taxonomy Technical Screening Criteria and within Polish Energy Law with regards to Closed Distribution Systems. Magdalena has successfully conducted projects regarding mapping ESG gaps and executing strategies regarding compliance with SFDR, NFRD, and EU Taxonomy for global enterprises. She is a member of the EY advisory group for the Australian Government regarding the implementation of sustainable taxonomy. She participated in negotiating and concluding cPPA agreements and implementing solutions for sustainable energy purchases. She has also practical experience in the field and regulation of the energy sector in Germany. Magdalena graduate of Jagiellonian University and Freie Universitaet Berlin, she is a member of the Warsaw Bar Association. |

| Michał Szalast-Dao Quy is a manager of the Sustainable Finance Team at Bank BNP Paribas. Since 2017 in corporate banking in the energy sector and focused on financing large-scale renewable energy projects in the project finance formula. Currently developing Polish market of sustainability-linked credit products. Coordinator of the projects linked to energy efficiency, electromobility, and financing sustainable business transformation. Co-author of the report "Business for the climate - a report on changing priorities". Member of the Working Group within the Sustainable Finance Platform led by the Ministry of Finance, working on the Roadmap for the Development of Sustainable Finance in Poland. |

| Michal Wyszyński is a CEO, and co-owner of Oxygen Forest Poland, which is about to go public as the "BeLeafSA" capital group. The company has officially published and adopted in its EBI/ESPI reports a strategy of action in realizing investments in private fast-growing forests by creating the world's first WEB3 smart timber futures. The entire capital group will also be involved in the development and implementation of other additional projects related to the circular economy - including a new marketplace for trading carbon offsets as an industry "carbon credit" solution, authenticated on the blockchain. Michal Wyszynski is also the initiator and co-founder of the "Polish Council of Oxygen Trees," which brings together scientific communities researching Paulownia trees. He is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics. He gained experience in the financial industry, working for companies such as EY and Deloitte. Privately, he specializes in the areas of advanced valuation of investment projects, corporate finance, financial engineering, and the ESG market. |

Mateusz Hilgner is the Senior Operations Manager of the distribution center in Sosnowiec, near Katowice. He has been involved in Amazon’s operations since 2016. During this time, he managed various teams and areas. He was responsible for managing the Sustainability and Environment in CEE Customer Fulfillment Operations. He is a graduate of the University of Economics in Katowice and a scholar of the Technical University of Munich and the Vienna University of Economics and Business. |

| Aleksandra Burgiel-Szewc is currently working as an associate professor in the Department of Consumer Research at the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland. Her main field of study is economics, with consumer behavior in particular, and lately behavioral economics. Her research area covers current consumer trends, with the main focus on sustainability as well as alternative modes of consumption, including collaborative and access-based consumption and sharing economy in general. Lately, she has been investigating possibilities of mainstreaming sustainability among consumers through carefully planned behavioral interventions (nudging and choice architecture). She has 27 years of experience in research and teaching. She has also served as a business consultant conducting research and developing recommendations for various organizations. She is the author of 3 monographs, author and co-author of almost 60 chapters in monographs, and over 25 articles. |
